19 Mar Capitalizing On Ignorance
I think we would all agree we are living in the age of information. Never has there been a time when information has been so instantly accessible. So why is ignorance so rampant? Why have so many chosen to be uninformed and misinformed? In todays economy a person can fact check statements instantly as to there accuracy and validity.
So, to the point. Over the last few days we have heard on a number of occasions how the Bible, especially the Old Testament should be ignored as to its teachings regarding perversion and homosexuality in particular. My friend, Kerby Anderson of Probe Ministries (www.probe.com) calls it, “Glee Theology” since the writers of this mind numbing parade of perversion are continually seeking to advance their own views of perversion. Once again, the proponents of this absurd argument reveal their gross ignorance of the Word of God. Their ignorance begins with their failure to recognize this is the “Word of God”. These words are not suggestions from God for humankind’s evaluation. In addition, any thinking individual who has read the Word of God understands there are differences between the ceremonial laws, civil laws and moral laws given to the Jews. That said, while the civil and ceremonial laws are no longer applicable for the most part, God’ moral laws have not and do not change. What was good morally for Israel and the Jews then, are good for all of us today. Wake up! Be informed and do not allow yourself to be led astray by ignorance.
