25 Jun The Slow Death of America
As a minister and pastor I have stood by the bed numerous times as a person fought for their very life. This is one of the most difficult things I have ever done, watching as life slowly ebbs away. Today I feel much the same as I watch this nation I love slowly grasping for breath as it slowly dies. Again and again we have called for a stand for what is right, what is moral, what is good and yes, what is Constitutional. All to no avail! Yesterday, 5 unelected people made the decision that America’s Constitution is no longer valid as they ruled that the people of Arizona have no right to protect themselves from a massive onslaught of murder, drugs and terrorism, yes terrorism! The people of Arizona are being terrorized and traumatized by the illegal invasion of their state, their home. How can any thinking person refuse to objectively look at the dangerous situation that exists in not only Arizona, but all the states bordering Mexico. Do we hate immigrants? Certainly not! That said, we are supposedly a country of laws and we have immigration laws which have been largely ignored by several administrations and it is long past time to stop this insanity as indicated by Justice Scalia’s scathing opinion. “The United States is an indivisible Union of sovereign states. Today’s opinion … deprives states of what most would consider the defining characteristic of sovereignty: the power to exclude from the sovereign’s territory people who have no right to be there. Neither the Constitution itself nor even any law passed by Congress supports this result.”
Just my thoughts.
